Our Curriculum

In the document below ("Curriculum Statement"), you will find information on the curriculum we follow:

Our pupils love sharing their knowledge and information learnt in class. You can view our "Did You Know?" videos, prepared by students, below:

We also pride ourselves in making sure our curriculum is fun and engaging with curriculum enhancements. Below is a flavour of what our pupils get up to, enhancing their learning and time in school:

Reading & Phonics

Our phonics teaching is based on ‘Letters and Sounds’ phonics programme. This was published by the DfES and provides a structured approach to phonics teaching and pupil development. Pupils in Reception-Y2 are taught discrete phonics lessons but then have the opportunity to apply their learning in different contexts.

We supplement the Letters and Sounds programme with phonics reading books from a variety of schemes including Oxford Reading Tree, Rigby Star, Pearson Phonics Bug, Collins Big Cat and BBC Active. These are carefully banded and provide choice and interest for our young readers at an appropriate level.
