School of Sanctuary

We are proud to be working towards becoming an accredited School of Sanctuary, part of a growing national network of schools committed to creating a culture of welcome, safety and belonging for all.

Holy Trinity is a place where kindness, understanding and inclusion are actively embedded into everyday school life, particularly for children and families who are seeking sanctuary.

As a school, we believe that everyone who walks through our doors should feel welcomed, valued and supported to thrive. Working towards the School of Sanctuary award means reflecting on our practice, listening to the voices of pupils and families, and strengthening how we support those who may be new to the UK or affected by displacement and uncertainty. It also involves raising awareness across our school community about the experiences of people seeking safety, promoting empathy, and challenging misunderstanding and misinformation.

Schools sit at the heart of their communities, and through this journey we aim to play our part in building a kinder, fairer and more inclusive society. By working in partnership with families, staff, pupils and our wider community, we are taking meaningful steps to ensure our school is a place of understanding, compassion and belonging for everyone.
